Fentanyl Free Oregon is a nonprofit organization dedicated to alerting and informing Oregonians – especially youth – about the deadly nature of street fentanyl through community engagement and substance use prevention strategies. We also serve our region under the name Prevention Oregon when addressing a broader range of current and emerging substance use issues.
What is fentanyl?
Fentanyl is a powerful synthetic opioid analgesic that is similar to morphine but is 50 to 100 times more potent. In its prescription form, it is prescribed for pain, but fentanyl is also made illegally.
